Report from ... A Pictorial Look at Lunch at Trius Winery Restaurant - February 18, 2013

Our opening wine: Trius Brut Rose

Introduction to one of the limited edition (550 made) "Eve" decanter from Riedel - stands 505mm high
Three amazing decanters with be use during our lunch (from left): 'Flamingo' - 'Eve'- ' Mamba'


They will be showing off these fantastic new limited edition wine in the Showcase line
Appetizer 1:  East Coast Diver Scallops ~ Confit Maple Pork Bacon and Sweet Potato Ravioli Apple, Bacon and Raisin Dressing
Appetizer 2:  Crisp Romaine Hearts ~ Compressed Apple and Cucumber, Atlantic Crab and Hen’s Egg Creamy Garlic and Parmesan Dressing, Prosciutto

 ... but it would be nothing without great food - and here is comes
Main 1:  Apple and Maple Brined Pork Chop ~ Pristine Farm White Bean and Chorizo Cassoulet, Maple ParsnipsPear and Raisin Chutney
Main 2:  Braised Lamb Shank ~ with Parmesan polenta and purple cabbage
Dessert 1:  Bittersweet Chocolate Tart ~ Vanilla Bean Ice Cream and Chocolate Caramel Fudge

Dessert 2:  Maple Cheesecake ~ Apple Purée and Toasted Walnut Ice Cream

 The food was fantastic and the show of decanters divine ... but of course for me it is all about the wines and those three Showcase limited edition wines were wonderful ... here they are pictured again:
